I can’t remember the last time Eric and I traveled on plane without kids. I use to love traveling, I think. But since we’ve had the kiddos, I have learned to enter into airports on mission. I have a plan (hopeful, I know), and I’m focused (on keeping my sanity). I’ve calculated exactly how much airport time we will have versus air time, where all the elevators are because stroller probs, and I always scout out how close the empty gates are to our departure gate. Because THAT is where will we be waiting. I know where the Starbucks is and exactly how long it will take me to push a stroller, buy a coffee, and get back to our gate in plenty of time to not have the added stress.
But yesterday, alas, we traveled again…just the two of us, because we are celebrating our anniversary in Mexico. I brought a BOOK (to read!), and we got to just sit and sip a latte, and be all casual while we waited for our plane to take off. This should be noted…I went to the library the other day and checked out a FICTION book for myself. That was tough to do with the kids and my 17 month-old trying to leap from my arms, so I pretty much grabbed the third book I picked up. Yikes, that was risky, but you do what you gotta do. Back in the day I would spend an hour perusing the shelves, reading bits and pieces of the books, and then end up checking them all out.
Anyways, after traveling for over 7 hours yesterday, I wanted to depart with you a golden nugget: the most ideal travel outfit. Sometimes, don’t you wish you could fly in your pajamas? Let’s be real, if I’m traveling in the car for hours, I want yoga pants and a tshirt (read: my pajamas). But that just feels weird on plane. Traveling in a car is private, traveling through an airport and on airplanes is not. If pajamas is your thing…YOU DO YOU SISTER. But if you’re like me, and you want to feel comfortable and also look presentable, then I have the perfect outfit for you.
You know those Piko tops we all love? The ones that are made of bamboo and are SO SOFT? Well, they have made a jumpsuit, dear sisters. And it is the most comfortable piece of clothing I own. I like to wear pants on a plane, even if it’s hot outside. I have traveled enough to know that more times than not, it’s a bit chilly on a plane. But then even if it is a little toasty on board, I hate the feeling of my bare legs sticking to the leather seats…you know, where the person before me stuck to the same seat?
This jumpsuit is super comfy and soft and basically pajamas. Perfect for airplane riding, running errands, or you can throw on some layered necklaces and wedges and wear it out on a date. Or you can sleep in it. YOU CHOOSE.
