Tiny Helping Hands

When I am sewing or monogramming, often times my kids are awake. Anyone who has small children understands that a project can take twice as long tiny kiddos are involved. It’s just the way it is. Amiright?

My scissors are next to me. I put them there. My cute little sweet blessing child will pick them up, as to be ever so helpful, and hand them to me while saying, “here mommy.” Thank you sweetie. Really, she just wants to touch them. They are so purple + shiny + heavy. She doesn’t want to do any other thing except help me with my project. She even wants to push the foot pedal while I sew. YIKES.

So an idea came to me. I found a tiny dull pair of purple scissors. I gave them to her with a piece of scrap fabric. Bingo. That did it. Entertained for at least 30 minutes.

Project finished.

What tips or tricks do you have for entertaining small children while trying to finish a project? Please share! I need all the ideas I can get!
