Recently I’ve been experimenting with sewing baby gowns. I am a big believer in awesome fabrics completely make the item great. Don’t you think? Having a toddler and 3 month old, I have to ask myself, what can I sew that is quick, easy, and fun?
I just don’t have a lot of time and patience right now to sew tiny arm holes and proportionate leg holes, so I’m going with easy! There will be a day when I’m feeling up to a more tedious project, but right now, these are as tedious as they come for me. I have been making every edge clean, which means fold, sew, fold, sew, repeat. One day I’ll get a serger! One day.
Wouldn’t you just love one of these for you adorable baby girl? Fortunately (for the customer’s sake) I am a perfectionist when it comes to my sewing. And well, these just aren’t perfect! So most likely I will gift them to someone :).
Although they are not flawless, I am pleased overall with the turnout! And of course I will play around with them more. But for now, in this season of my life, these gowns are the perfect project for someone like me, who has limited time…cute, functional, and most importantly…no tiny arm or leg holes to deal with!
Remember, keep calm and sew on, my friends! Happy Tuesday!
